Salt Spring Island has lengthy been known as a completely unique vicinity in BC. For the population, there are a very huge variety of artists, sculptors and musicians residing here. The community got together and raised budget to build Art Spring, a state-of-the-art community corridor. Many widely known musicians, each nearby and from afar, have performed here already. Even the pubs have a quite top displaying talent performing there.
Salt Spring Island is located between Vancouver Island and the British Columbia Mainland in the Salish Sea alongside its neighbouring islands of Galiano, Pender, Saturna, Mayne and Prevost. With the 3 ferry crossings and great location to Victoria and the Cowichan Valley, this island getaway is easier to get to then most people think. Your ride on BC Ferries – or a flight on an float plane into Ganges Harbour – Such a great way to start your adventure to our island.
Salt Spring Island is the largest (70 square miles or 180 square kilometres), most populated (11,500) and, some might say the most popular, of the Southern Gulf Islands.
